Matching Gifts Specialist
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Gift and Records Management, this position is responsible for the daily management of all phases of the University’s matching gifts program; entering all gifts into the database; executing daily gift batching; accurately entering pledges, payment schedules and payments.
The Matching Gift Specialist is also responsible for accurately researching, coding, and processing all individual and matching claims and gifts within the Advancement Services database software. This position interfaces with corporate and foundation matching gift companies and processes all donor matching gift information. In addition, the Matching Gift Specialist interfaces with donors and campus departments regarding specific instructions for gift processing and employment updates. Must have knowledge of standard operating procedures for gift processing and gift acceptance policies as it pertains to NC State, IRS regulations and CASE guidelines.
The Matching Gifts Specialist work collaboratively to ensure accurate gift accounting and record keeping for processing matching gifts; process gift batches in a timely and accurate fashion; maintains database integrity and adheres to Standard Operating Procedures for Acceptance of Gifts.
The Matching Gifts Specialist maintains accurate records regarding matching corporation/foundation contact, guidelines, and form requirements; manages updates for matching gift policy information on eligible employers in database.
The Matching Gifts Specialist Analyzes contributions to determine appropriate funds and entities for each gift to be processed. Corresponds with donors regarding match-eligible gifts to promote submissions for matching gift claims. Manages claim status of eligible gifts in database and promote the integrity of the database by ensuring data accuracy. Assists leadership in executing processes and strategies to increase matching gift revenue.
