Donor Services Specialist

The Donor Services Specialist’s primary responsibilities will include coordinating the donor-funded professorship process, producing annual print and digital endowment reports, acting as a liaison between advancement reporting/IT, data integration and management, reporting, benchmarking and allocation review, act as the team’s project manager and assist in automating processes. Donor Services is seeking an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced and innovative team environment. The ideal candidate will have superb writing skills and will be capable of working with processes that require analytical skills and problem-solving, managing many simultaneous and detail-oriented duties and working directly with front line development staff. The Donor Services Specialist will report to the Assistant Director of Donor Services.

Advancement Services supports the operations of Alumni Relations, University Development & University Communications. The unit oversees the university’s alumni & donor database, Advance™, Advance BI systems, processing gifts and conducting research about potential contribution opportunities. Advancement Services also maintains financial records, conducts donor research, receipts corporate & individual private gifts following the NC State Standard Operating Procedures for Acceptance of Gifts, administers the corporate matching gifts program, updates & verifies alumni records, manages donor prospect tracking systems, plans and manages gift agreements & endowment reports, manages the university’s naming opportunities process.

The office of Donor Services assists in creating, reviewing and approving gift agreements between donors and university-affiliated foundations, many of which support NC State’s $1+ billion endowment. In addition, Donor Services produces nearly 3,000 endowment reports for donors annually. This office also manages the gift minimum recommendation level for rooms/spaces and the approval process for donor-funded naming opportunities. Overall, the Office of Donor Services serves as a central resource for: gift agreements, endowment reporting, donor-funded professorships, and naming opportunities.

Donor Services is seeking an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced and innovative team environment. The ideal candidate will have superb writing skills and will be capable of working with processes that require analytical skills and problem-solving, being responsible for many simultaneous and detail-oriented duties and working directly with frontline fund development staff. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Donor Services.
