Assistant Dean of Philanthropy

COLLEGE OF VETERINARY MEDICINE

The Assistant Dean is the college’s chief fundraising and engagement leader and will be responsible for managing the college advancement team and working closely with the Dean on strategic relationships and vision for Advancement. The Assistant Dean is responsible for sustaining and strategically planning growth in fundraising results in collaboration with university partners and in alignment with industry best practices. The Assistant Dean will lead and administer a team that includes Major Gifts Officers, Leadership Annual Giving Officers, and a small administrative staff. Our Advancement team works in close partnership with our clinical faculty, researchers and leadership, and interacts extensively with our animal-owning clients.

Senior Director of Philanthropy

COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

Reporting to the Executive Director of Philanthropy, the Senior Director of Philanthropy is a senior member of the College of Engineering’s fundraising team and will play a key role in preparation for a future campaign. The Senior Director will be a proven fundraiser with excellent leadership skills who appreciates and nurtures an accountable, goal-oriented and values-based work environment. The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening the fundraising culture in the College of Engineering with a strong focus on portfolio management, pipeline building, and accountability. The Senior Director is responsible for meeting or exceeding annual goals based on new prospect discovery and qualifications, in-person meetings, proposals submitted and gifts closed, as well as coaching their team toward success in achieving the goals of the College. The Senior Director will serve as a leader and thought partner in planning, coordinating and implementing fundraising initiatives by closely partnering with advancement and College leaders and colleagues.

Director of Philanthropy

COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

Reporting to the Senior Director of Philanthropy, the Director of Philanthropy is responsible for identifying, qualifying, soliciting, and stewarding major and leadership gift donors to NC State University. This position will serve as a part of the College of Engineering’s growing and ambitious advancement team. The Director will serve as a liaison for the Engineering advancement team and leader(s) for one or more academic departments or programs and represent the full College through regular travel to one or more assigned regions. They will play a key role in developing fundraising strategies for their assigned programs and the College, as we prepare for a future campaign. As appropriate, the Director will also staff events and meetings with academic leaders (Department Heads, Dean, etc.), as well as identify and coordinate the management of key volunteers (alumni advisory board, etc.) The Director will be expected to manage a portfolio of discovery and actively managed prospects while also collaborating with fundraising colleagues within the College and across campus.

Associate Director of Philanthropy

COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE & LIFE SCIENCES

The Associate Director of Philanthropy is responsible for the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors with the capacity to give at the level of $25,000-$99,000. They will be a highly motivated professional who will be deeply involved in the fundraising efforts in support of all departments in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). This position will have an emphasis on individual donors and developing a pipeline for major gifts. Solicitations will be multi-channel, including, but not limited to, phone calls, mail, emails, and personal meetings. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy in CALS, this position will serve as a member of the CALS Advancement team.

Director of Philanthropy, Corporate and Foundation Relations

UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENT – CORPORATE AND FOUNDATION RELATIONS

Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Director will work in close collaboration with members of the University Advancement team and serve as the primary prospect manager for a portfolio of foundations, corporations and organizations. The Director is responsible for identifying and building relationships with corporations and foundations to secure private funding for university-wide initiatives in accordance with industry best practices in development.
