Director of Student and Young Alumni Programs
The Director of Student and Young Alumni Programs is responsible for the engagement of current students and young alumni through programs, events and volunteer development. The Director will supervise the Coordinator of Student Programs, including setting and evaluating the work of the Student Coordinator based on performance metrics to ensure that all quality and financial goals are met for the program.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Oversee program-related revenue and expenditures.
- Manage related events and coordinate with events staff in the aspect of scheduling, budgeting, logistical planning and post-event evaluation.
- Follow-up on program and event details such as booking services, ordering supplies, assembling materials/packages and making other necessary arrangements.
- Maintain detailed records of meetings, programs and events.
- Assist in hosting University and Alumni Association events, including interfacing with high-level prospects engaged in student programs, such as dinners and mentoring programs.
The Membership Program is responsible for effectively engaging alumni, students, and friends of the University. The unit accomplishes this function by organizing events, coordinating communication, creating new programs and building partnerships that help foster alumni pride in the University to garner memberships. The growth of the alumni membership base is a primary focus of this unit as the Alumni Association relies predominantly on membership revenue.
Assistant Director of Regional Alumni Engagement
The Assistant Director of Regional Alumni Engagement is responsible for providing consultation to volunteer alumni leaders, assisting in event planning and coordination, and promoting communication between university community, alumni, parents, and friends at NC State.
Volunteer and Network Consultation:
Provide advice and counsel to volunteer alumni leaders in planning and conducting a variety of social, educational, and community service activities and events.
Conduct analysis of existing alumni network offerings to provide recommendations to network leaders on options to enhance the scope of their offerings.
Promote communication and interaction between the university community, alumni, parents and friends of NC State through organizational assistance, supervision, and coordination with volunteers.
Recommend areas for the establishment of new alumni networks and assist with the recruit volunteer leaders for both new and established alumni networks.
Contribute to the volunteer recruitment process with the Associate Director for networks within the state.
Event Planning and Conducting Presentations:
Independently assess the needs of a geographic group of alumni to determine appropriate types of events to meet those needs and then work with network leaders to plan, execute and follow up on alumni network events. Take cultural and regional sensitivities into consideration when determining recommendations.
Lend organizational assistance to alumni network leaders in planning programs, arranging for speakers and coordinating the preparation, publication and advance publicity for these events.
Prepare and deliver presentations on behalf of the university suited to the needs of various alumni audiences.
Manage relationships with both internal and external Alumni Association partners and operate as main Alumni Association representative for assigned networks.
Coordinate and administer assigned network programs and manage associated program resources.
Participate in developing and expanding Engagement Team goals, objectives and strategies.
Travel on both nights and weekends as the representative of the university at alumni gatherings will be required.
